Speaker Assembly, former VC, others call on Lt Governor

JAMMU, Nov 13: Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, met Lt. Governor Girish Chandra Murmu, at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Dr. Singh discussed with the Lt. Governor various issues relating to public welfare and holistic development of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kuldeep Raj Gupta, former Vice Chairman, J&K Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking people also met Lt. Governor and apprised him about various issues regarding welfare of the Pahari Speaking People and overall development of the Jammu and Kashmir.
Sanjeev Kumar, Executive Director (North Zone), Food Corporation of India briefed Lt. Governor about the stock position of food grains in the godowns of FCI, arrangements for their timely supply particularly in the snow-bound, remote and inaccessible areas of J&K and also discussed about additional storage capacity that could be planned considering the demand situation.
Lt. Governor suggested taking all necessary steps to ensure hassle-free supplies of food grains, especially in climatically challenging and areas with difficult terrain.
Rakesh Gupta, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry also met Lt. Governor and apprised him about various pressing issues of the Industry and Commerce sector in J&K and shared his views regarding making industry a robust partner in the economic development of the Union Territory.
Chander Shekhar, ADG, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) briefed Lt. Governor about overall functioning and the role being played by the DRI in keeping a check on economic and narcotics related crimes here.
