JAMMU, Nov 13: Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu today sanctioned ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh each for the next of the kin (NoK) of those who died in a road accident near Khellani on Batote-Kishtwar National Highway.
Meanwhile, the Lt Governor has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in accident.
In a message, he expressed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
Meanwhile, on the direction of Principal Secretary Transport, Dr Asgar Samoon, a team of Transport Department visited the accident site and took stock of the reasons that caused the mishap.
The team comprising of Gurmukh Singh, Joint Transport Commissioner; Dhanatar Singh, RTO Jammu; R K Bhat, Addl Secy Road Safety and Ravi Raina, SE Road Safety, visited the site. The officers of NHIDL and ARTO Doda also accompanied the team.
