SKUAST-J organizes training prog for farmers

JAMMU, Jan 16: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized two days training programme on quality seed production in Rabi crops at Dry Land Research Sub -Station (DLRSS), Rakh Dhiansar under the aegis of Mega seed Project, SKUAST-J.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr Anil Kumar (Professor), Nodal Officer Mega Seed Project, SKUAST-J.
About 30 farmers from the domain areas of different villages of Samba District participated in the programme and interacted with SKUAST-J scientists regarding the latest scientific agro-techniques of quality seed production in Rabi crops.
Various scientists from different disciplines of SKUAST-J delivered their expert lectures.
Dr D K Chouhan, Seed Technologist, Mega seed project discussed the concept of quality seed production. Dr Mahender Singh discussed various agronomical practices for enhancing quality seed production of Rabi crops especially wheat. He further stressed the farmers to follow the package and practices recommended for the zone by SKUAST-J.
Dr Jai Kumar (Agronomist), Dr Reena (Entomologist), Dr Brinder Singh, Dr Anjani Kumar and Dr Sonika Jamwal also delivered their expert lectures.
