Srinagar, Apr 8: Even as the doctors’ associations across the country are identifying loopholes in the working of the system, the Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA), SKIMS today dissolved the Association.
In a letter written to the Director, SKIMS, it was stated that in view of the current scenario and “many mischievous people misusing the name of RDA with malicious intent, we the members of RDA after thorough discussion decided to dissolve the RDA, SKIMS and withhold all our activities from now on with immediate effect,” the letter reads.
The development has come after the SKIMS had issued a rebuttal after someone posing as RDA has said that they are purchasing the PEEs on their own. The RDA had also distanced itself from the news report.
Then, in a tweet that was put from the official RDA twitter handle, the Association had expressed its resentment against the move of the SKIMS administration deducting their one day salary “without their consent.”
The issue of salary deduction was also rebutted in the one issued earlier, leading to the development with resulted in the dissolution of the Association “in view of current scenario.”
The SKIMS in the rebuttal had said that some people who have got their interests were hell-bent in tarnishing the image of the institution.
