Six convicted in acid attack, murder cases

JAMMU, May 9: Principal District Judge Pulwama, Abdul Rashid Malik today convicted three persons in an acid attack case and three accused in a murder case.
The accused convicted in the acid throwing case are Nazir Ahmad Mir, son of Gh Nabi Mir, Showkat Ahmad Mir, son of Gh Qadir Mir and Mohmad Younis Mir, son of Ab Aziz Mir, all the residents of Ratnipora. These convicts with the common intention and mutual concert threw acid upon the face of Gulzar Ahmad, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir of Ratnipora on May 30, 2002 . The victim had lost his both eyes.
This case will come up for arguments upon the sentence on May 12.
In the murder case, the convicts are Nazir Ahmad Ganaie, son of Ghulam Ganaie of Wagum Pulwama, Ghulam Ganaie, son of Salam Ganaie and Maqbool Ganaie, son of Ghulam Ganaie. They had killed Danish Farooq alias Umar Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad Ganaie of Wagam by conniving with each other.
This case will also come up for argument upon sentence on May12.
