BANDIPORA, May 9: A grand opening ceremony of Shaheed Gopi Singh Rathore Football tournament was held at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, here today.
Total 26 teams are participating in the tournament, which will be played for a fortnight on knockout basis.
The tournament which is being organized by the local Army unit is a most awaited event in the  town of Bandipora, since no football tournament was played in recent years.
The best goal keeper and best player of the tournament will be felicitated with Late Ghulam Nabi Khan trophy and cash award.
Opening ceremony witnessed presence of senior officers of the Army, J&K police and district administration alongwith MLA Bandipora, Usman Majid.
