SIU conducts multiple raids

SRINAGAR, Nov 18: Special Investigation Unit of police today conducted multiple raids in Rajni Bala and killing of others in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Police said that continuing its crackdown on terror elements Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Kulgam conducted raids at two different locations of district Kulgam today.
They include residential houses of two suspects- Abdul Wakeel Shah son of Mohammad Amin Shah of Danow Mukandpora and Tahir Ahmad Sofi son of Abdul Rahman Sofi of Kulgam town- in connection with case pertaining to killing of teacher Rajni Bala.
During the searches, SIU Kulgam gathered relevant information and the role of these suspects in commission of crime is being examined.
The statement further stated that these raids are carried out to eliminate the militancy ecosystem in the district by identifying various Over Ground Workers and supporters of militancy.
“These raids will continue in future also for the logical conclusion of all UAPA cases,” read the statement.
