Silver futures gain on firm global cues

NEW DELHI, Oct 8: Silver prices rose by Rs 120 to Rs 39,098 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions amid a firming trend in precious metals overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March next year traded higher by Rs 120, or 0.31 per cent, at Rs 39,098 per kg in a business turnover of just one lot.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 102, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 38,465 per kg in 504 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators largely in tandem with a firming trend in precious metals overseas, influenced silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver was up 0.50 per cent at USD 17.27 an ounce in Singapore today. (PTI)
