AHMEDABAD, Oct 8: Gandhinagar will host the 9th edition of ‘PlastIndia 2015’, an international plastics exhibition and conference, scheduled to be held from February 5-10 next year.
Stating this, state Finance Minister Saurabh Patel said that all the previous exhibitions were held only at Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
The event will be held at the exhibition ground in the vicinity of Mahatma Mandir in the state capital.
“Gujarat will become the first Indian state to host ‘PlastIndia’ outside Delhi. I am glad that the organisers have chosen Gandhinagar. I assure them full co-operation from our side,” Patel said while addressing a press conference on PlastIndia 2015 here yesterday.
Patel also said the government will announce its new industrial policy soon.
“At a time when our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched ‘Make in India’ campaign, Gujarat is going to announce new industrial policy shortly. All manufacturers including plastic manufacturers and processors, who are looking for capacity expansion and diversification will be extended all possible support under the new policy,” he said.
President of PlastIndia Foundation Subhash Kadakia termed the exhibition as the biggest business opportunity of 2015.
“PlastIndia Foundation is the apex body of various organisations and institutions associated with plastics. This exhibition will be India’s biggest and world’s third largest event in plastic industry”, Kadakia said, adding the expo is expected to see participation of around 50 countries.
According to PlastIndia Foundation, the expo will be spread across 1.25 lakh sq meters of area having exhibition halls and pavilions to accommodate 7000 delegates, 1.5 lakh visitors and about 2000 exhibitors from 50 nations. (PTI)
