NEW DELHI, Apr 29: Tracking a weak global trend, silver prices moved down by 0.45 per cent to Rs 42,275 per kg in futures trade today as speculators partially offloaded positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May moved down by Rs 193, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 42,275 per kg in a business turnover of 349 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in July declined by Rs 152, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 43,060 per kg in 137 lots.
Market analysts said speculators trimmed positions in tandem with a weak global trend on speculation that the Federal Reserve will further reduce US monetary stimulus as it starts a two-day policy meeting today, weighed on silver futures here.
Meanwhile, silver fell by 0.46 per cent to USD 19.48 an ounce in Singapore today. (PTI)
