Mentha oil rises on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 29:  Mentha oil edged up by 0.27 per cent to Rs 827.60 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions, supported by pick-up in spot demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April rose by Rs 2.20, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 827.60 per kg in a business turnover of 143 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 2.10, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 838.30 per kg in 189 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators on the back of rising demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against tight supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade. (PTI)
