JAMMU, Mar 26: Sikh Sangat of Model Town Ward No 57 Jammu organized a function today under the chairmanship of S Harpal Singh Bali president BJP.
On the occasion BJP general secretary Harinder Gupta was the chief guest while Virenderjit Singh who was recently appointed as incharge of all Cells of BJP was the special guest.
In his address Virenderjit Singh highlighted the steps taken by the BJP Government both during the previous NDA Government led by Atal Behari Vajpayee and now during the Narendra Modi Government for the welfare of Sikhs in the country.
He said on the eve of 300 years of Khalsa birth Divas, Rs 300 cr were given by then Vajpayee Government and with this amount Virasat- e -Khalsa in Anandpur Sahib was constructed which created employment avenues for unemployed youth.
He said besides for the first time also in the Union budget Rs 100 crore was allotted for the celebration of 350th Birthday of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, by Narendra Modi Government. This clearly shows that BJP is equally concerned for the welfare of Sikh community in the country.
Varinderjit Singh said that he is in the party not for any personal benefit but to serve the nation without any greed.
Further he said that he will always try his level best to get best to work for the betterment of mankind as preached by great Sikh Guruus.
Harinder Gupta general secretary of the party in his address said that BJP believes justice to all and appeasement to none and the party is of the firm belief that people from all sections of society be given equal chances for development and upliftment.
In the welcome address Harpal Singh Bali said Sikh Community from Model Town has always felicitated people from various fields.
Promonent among who attended the ceremony were, Kulwant Singh Bhatti,Gurdyal Singh Bali, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa, Amarjeet Singh (Neetu), Ramnik Singh, Kulveer Kour and Others.
