NC Minority Cell warns agitation

JAMMU, Mar 26: National Conference (NC) Minority Cell while expressing its grave concern over the denial of ration to displaced Pandits by the Government has demanded that migrants be provided ration as per the old scale and the NFSA should not be implemented on them as the relief and ration given to migrants falls under security related expenses.
Addressing the meeting of the heads of various social organizations and Mohalla Committees here today, NC Minority Cell president, M K Yogi took the authorities to task for not solving the long pending problems of the displaced Pandits.
He said the migrants have not only been deprived of the two months ration but the bifurcation of ration cards , delay in issuance of PRCs, denial of RBA certificates and migrant certificates to the students of the community has been a cause of concern for all the displaced people from Valley.
He said the migrants putting up at Udhampur have not been given ration since December last year while there is also a brewing resentment among the community over slow pace of making Aadhaar cards in the camps and non camp localities.
The leaders of these committees while highlighting their problems said that they have been put to hardships due to delay in bifurcation of ration cards and settlement of other issue including the bifurcation of cards.
Mr Yogi warned that in case the demands were not settled within a stipulated time frame the NC Minority Cell with the support of all these organizations will launch an agitation and authorities will be responsible for all consequences. (PTI)
