Sikh Organizations express concern over ignoring community people

JAMMU, June 25: Many Sikh Organizations have expressed concern over ignoring Sikh community people in the appointment of Public Service Commission (PSC) members by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the minority Sikh community is being continuously discriminated in every sphere in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a press conference, Tarlochan Singh Wazir Chairman SGPC disclosed that previously one Sikh member was almost always been there in the PSC, but now the total neglect of Sikh community member has badly hurt the genuine fundamental aspirations of Sikh community and particularly their young generation is feeling being alienated in every sphere.
Wazir said that already they are striving for minority status reservation and reservation of constituencies for minority Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir, but now this total neglect in new PSC formation is against the spirit of “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas” slogan of Central Government.
Sikh leaders while lodging strong protest and resentment with J&K UT administration disclosed that they have decided to sound Jathedar Shri Akal Takhat Sahib and SGPC Amritsar over this discrimination with the minority Sikh community in UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
