JAMMU, June 12: Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sainik Samaj Party (SSP) here today intensified their campaign ‘Mera Jammu Kashmir, Mera Adhikar’ by organizing a ‘Jan Chaupal’ in Ward number 66, Lower Roop Nagar to know public aspirations.
In Jan Chaupal a significant number of individuals expressed resentment against the imposition of Property Tax.
Shashi Bala and Bitoo Bhatt voiced concern over escalating power cuts and exorbitant electricity bills.
Speaking on the occasion, Manish Sahni, president Shiv Sena J&K and Colonel S.S Pathania (retired), SSP president said that there is public anger towards anti-people decisions and policies of the government.
Both the parties jointly announced their candidate for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) polls in J&K and declared Balwant Singh as the joint candidate for Ward number 66.
Sahni emphasized that purpose of Jan Chaupals is to engage with public, understand their concerns and aspirations and select candidates for upcoming elections based on public opinion.
He further stated that instructions have been issued to all the leaders and activists to remain vigilant and accessible to the public.
Meenakshi Chibber, Vikas Bakshi, Sanjeev Kohli, Uma Devi, Varinder Baloria, Sunil Dutt, social worker Satish Poonchi, Sikender Singh, Parshotam, Sohan Singh, S.K Raina, Kulwant, Babli Devi, Bittu, Vishal Bakshi, Sonu Gupta, Madhu Devi, Asha Devi and others were also present on the occasion.
