Shiv Sena demands Statehood restoration

JAMMU, Aug 9: Shiv Sena J&K unit has claimed that BJP led government has betrayed the people of J&K in the name of Naya J&K since August 5, 2019, when it abrogated Articles 370 and 35-A and this was confirmed by Ranjan Prakash Desai report.
Led by Shiv Sena State chief, Manish Sahni, Shiv Sainiks staged a protest demonstration against the government demanding restoration of Statehood to J&K and start of democratic process to pave way for the elected government.
Sahni said that BJP led government has resorted to blatant breach of promise that it made to the people of J&K.
“Backbone of J&K people has been broken due to inflation, unemployment, poor health services and infrastructure deficiencies and the people are not getting basic necessities like electricity, water, roads and education,” he maintained adding: “While Delimitation Commission did no justice to people of Jammu division, restoration of Statehood to J&K still continues to be a distant dream.”
He accused the government of showing reluctance in shifting PM package Kashmiri Pandit employees to safer places.
Shiv Sena women wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; secretary, Geeta Lakhotra; Manzoor Ahmed and others were also present in the protest.
