SGEJAC demands release of 17% DA

JAMMU, Jan 22: State Government Employees Joint Action Committee (SGEJAC) has urged upon the State Governor to release pending two installments of DA (10% & 7%) in favour of State employees and pensioners  without any further delay.
Talking to reporters in a joint press conference here today senior members of SGEJAC Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma and Subash Verma issued an appeal to the Governor N N Vohra to provide justice to the State employees as they have been victimized by the previous popular Government led by National Conference. They said that due to inflation the low paid and middle rung employees are facing lot of hardships.
They said the demands of the employees which also included regularization of daily rated, consolidated, contractual and casual workers, removal of  pay anomalies of clerical cadre, enhancement of Medical allowance, Budgetary support to  PSUs also remained unattended. They said the employees remained silent due to floods and then elections.
The SGEJAC leaders now declared to launch a decisive agitation if case the Government failed to address their pending issues. They appealed all the employees to gear up for the next agitation if the Government shows indifferent attitude. These leaders said that in a general body meeting  it has been decided to take up the matter with the Governor at first instance and if the response is favourable then course of action will be decided.
Babu Hussain,  Bharat Bhushan, Nazir Ahmed Bhat, K C Dubey, Yash Pal, Rinku Gill and others were also accompanying them.
