SRINAGAR, Mar 15: As the Avian Flu scare rages on, several crows were found dead under mysterious circumstances, while carcasses of few foxes were also found in the Sogam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said that panic gripped the locals after several crows were found dead at Sogam early in the morning.
The locals were more worried and puzzled when they also found the carcasses of three foxes that were found in nearby spots of the area.
Locals said that they immediately informed the concerned department while also stating that the area has witnessed an increase in the mysterious death of poultry birds.
The authorities have swung into the action and have deputed teams to the spot to collect the samples. “4 crows were found dead under mysterious circumstances; the teams that were deputed to the area have collected the samples and the same have been sent for further investigation to the Zakura Lab,” Dr Irshad Khoja, in charge Bird Flu in Kupwara told Excelsior.
