JAMMU, Mar 15: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) asked the representatives of Akhil Bharatiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh to call off their strike, when a deputation of the organisation called on the general secretaries of BJP, Vibodh Gupta (former MLC) and Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal (former Minister) and highlighted their issues for redressals before them at BJP Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here today.
Lucky Chidha State president of organization, Girdhari Lal working president, Amar Mooman Nath, general secretary, Kali president BB MC, Som Raj, Vikas Mattoo, Akash, Thomas, Khem Raj, Mangal Dass, Sanjeev Kumar and others were part of the deputation that called on the BJP leadership.
The deputation of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) discussed the hardships being faced by them which forced them to go for the strike in support of their demands. They raised demands for the issues like regularizing the workers, implementing Minimum Wages Act in J&K, quick clearance of SRO 43 cases, accommodation of Safai Karamcharis, stoppage of implementation of SRO 120 and many other demands were also raised on the occasion.
Vibodh Gupta and Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal after listening to their demands informed them that they can have faith and their all the genuine issues will be resolved soon. They assured the deputation that BJP will discuss their issues at the appropriate forums and will see to it they get their reasonable demands met in a minimum time frame. They even said that it is only due to the sanitation workers’ dedicated efforts that the people can dwell in the cities and towns and we can possibly think of living in developed State. BJP leaders insisted that their issues will be discussed on priority and requested them to call off their strike and resume their jobs, so as the other members of the society are not victimized.
