JAMMU, Jan 16: A delegation of BJP leaders of Dachan led by district vice president of Kishtwar, Ravi Kumar Thakur today called on Director Education Jammu and demanded separate Education Zone for Dachan.
The delegation also submitted the recommendations made by Chief Education Officer, Kishtwar in this regard to her. The delegation said that the Education Zone Marwah is comprised of two tehsils, tehsil Marwah and Dachan having a distance of 40 kilometers with scattered educational institutions without any communication.
Moreover, the topography of the zone is hilly and tough due to which it is not being monitored and supervised by one ZEO properly. Besides, the tehsil Marwah remains cut off for six months with district headquarters and other parts of Jammu in Winter due to blockade of motorable because of which it is impossible for the Department to run the official correspondence as well as free distribution of text books and MDM rice. It also takes two days to reach to Marwah through Dachan from district headquarter, the delegation added.
Hence in view of this the separate Education Zone be sanctioned for Dachan so that the people and students are relieved of the problems. The other members of the delegation included Subash Dhar, district secretary, BJYM and Dharminder Ganjoo senior BJP leader of the area.
