JAMMU, Sept 14: In connection with the centaury celebration of legendary short story writer Ismat Chughtai, the Department of Urdu in Jammu University today organized a one day national seminar on the topic “Ismat Chughtai in the Light of her Short Stories”.
Asif Malik, Dr Mohd Reyaz Ahmed, Dr Sadaf Shah and Prof Khawaja Ekram acted as resource persons of the seminar and threw light on different aspects of short stories written by Ismat Chughtai. Themes, characters and art of Ismat Chughtai was discussed in detail by the resource persons. They made a critical survey of various short stories of Ismat Chughtai which give new dimensions to Urdu short stories.
The seminar was presided over by the noted short story writer Khalid Hussain while HoD Urdu presented welcome addrees.
