Secy H&ME reviews functioning of Ayush Deptt

JAMMU, Sept 8: Secretary, Health and Medical Education (H&ME) department, Bhupinder Kumar today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Directorate of Ayush J&K as well as progress on implementation National Ayush Mission.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion on National Ayush Mission was held wherein all the components of National Ayush Mission were discussed besides Medicinal Plant Sector was also deliberated upon.
Speaking during the meeting, the Secretary impressed upon the officers that all the under construction projects be taken up on priority and completed well in stipulated time. He emphasized that screening of lifestyle disorders like Hypertension, Obesity and Diabetes Miletus shall be started in all Ayush Health and Wellness Centers.
The Secretary, also stressed that Bio-Metric attendance system be installed in all the field institutions and attendance be monitored twice a day.
During the meeting, Dr. Mohan Singh, Director Ayush J&K, gave a detailed presentation on Ayush and other achievements of the directorate. He also presented Physical and Financial Progress of NABARD Projects and Progress of UT Capex Projects being undertaken by the Directorate of Ayush.
The Director also informed the meeting that Institute of High Altitude Medicinal Plants is coming up at Bhaderwah Doda and work on the project has already started. He added that three Medicinal Plant Nurseries are also being established at Samba, Bhaderwah and Gurez.
Meanwhile, Bhupinder Kumar, also chaired another meeting of senior officers of Health and Medical Education Department to discuss the issues regarding organizing of Mega Blood Donation Camps across J&K from 17th September to 1st October, 2022.
The meeting was attended by MD, NHM, Principals of GMCs, DG, Family Welfare, Additional Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Director Health Services Kashmir and other concerned officers.
He instructed Director Health Services, Kashmir and Jammu to ensure that voluntary blood donation camps are organized in all the districts of J&K.
Later on, Bhupinder Kumar also convened a meeting of senior officers of Health and Medical Education Department to review the preparedness related to Dengue in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
He asked officers to create awareness about the prevention of diseases amongst the public and also carry out the fumigation in the identified places, besides taking all necessary measures to ensure curtailment of the disease.
