SAMBA, Sept 9: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Vijaypur Sonu Pargal on the directions of DC Samba conducted surprise check of shops in Vijaypur town.
He was accompanied by Naib Tehsildars, TSO, EO Municipality, Health and police teams.
During the visit, SDM checked quality of sweets, illegal storage of polythene bags and commercial use of domestic LPG cylinders.
SDM imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the defaulters. He also checked supply of LPG cylinders to people.
Pargal said such surprise checks will be conducted in future also and defaulters punished accordingly
He requested general public to co-operate with the administration in the restoration work being carried in connection with the damages caused due to recent rain and flash floods.
