JAMMU, Sept 14: Members of Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association today called on the Vice-Chancellor Professor R D Sharma and the Registrar Professor Keshav Sharma for apprising them of the concerns being faced by the SC/ST employees in the University.
The Association president R L Kaith submitted to the Vice-Chancellor a clarification regarding reservation roster points, sought from the Social Welfare Department through the Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs. The Vice-Chancellor handed over the same to the Registrar for implementing the reservation roster points in promotions accordingly.
Association demanded representation to SC/ST in its bodies like University Council, Syndicate, Academic Council, Selection Committee, etc.
The Vice-Chancellor asked Association to prepare an item to this effect and submit the same to him for sending to the State Government for effecting necessary amendments in the University Act.
Association members also urged the Vice-Chancellor to provide a suitable accommodation to the Association for establishing its office on the campus.
