Save trees, Save life

Sir,
How painful it seems when trees are cut rather sacrificed mercilessly for the sake of infrastructural development. We are delusioned by the tall buildings and glass furnished malls because the glitter and luster of the these big structures make us believe that we are advanced, technologically developed and modern but the fact is that we are challenging our very existence and survival.
No doubt advancement is essential for living a comfortable life but to maintain a harmonious balance between development and environment is need of the hour. Trees constitue the lifeline of ecology and it is almost impossible to imagine human existence and other organic forms of life to flourish without trees and plants. Elixir of life is oxygen and it is trees only which are the reserviour of this vital component. Then how can we allow cutting of trees at the cost of our very own existence. The concept of worshipping trees in Hindu religion in ancient times and till today was not any superstitious belief but the sole purpose was to save trees and precious creations of God. Therefore, we need to strike a balance between environmental protection and scientific or technological development so as to live a healthier and happier life.
