JAMMU, June 4: In order to overcome the problem of dilapidated roads in Jammu West Constituency, State Vice President BJP & MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) called an emergency meeting at PWD Guest House, Gandhi Nagar with Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Alok Mengi in which he discussed the problem of bad condition of roads in the area. executive engineers PWD, Rajesh Bhagat and Rajan Mengi were also present in the meeting.
Raising concern over the condition of roads in his Constituency, Sat Sharma (CA) said that the problems of dilapidated roads in many parts of the Constituency is worsening day by day and the conditions of roads are also deteriorating from time to time and bigger holes have been developed which has become a main source of problem for public who passes through those roads.
He instructed the PWD (R&B) officials to immediately start the works for those roads for which the tenders have been received by the Department. He also said that Department should create re- tendering for those works for which no response were given by contractors at the time of tendering and also immediately release tenders for those works as well which are to be started in future by the department so that the public might not face any problem.
The MLA also said that crores of Rupees have been sanctioned by the Central Government for Black Topping of roads in Jammu West and the department must look into the matter seriously and immediately start the work for Black Topping of roads in the Constituency.
The Chief Engineer informed the MLA that the Black Topping works of roads in Janipur Main Road will be started within a week. He also said that patch works will also be started in the Constituency immediately.
He also assured the MLA that the works will be started shortly and within few time majority works in the area will also get completed in order to cope up with the basic requirements of public in the area.
