Sarpanch among 5 killed

Srinagar, May 12: Five persons including father- son duo were killed in a tragic road mishap at Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district this morning.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO)  Sandeep Bhat told Excelsior that at around 7.30 am, an over speeding car while negotiating a  turn at Silikote in Uri skidded off the road and fell into a 200 deep gorge resulting in the death of all five persons boarding the car.
The father-son duo was identified as Sarpanch Ghulam Hassan and Imran Ahmad while other deceased were identified as Arif Ahmad, Imtiyaz Ahamd Chalko and Mushtaq Ahmad Awan.
The SDPO said they have recovered all the bodies from a nallah and registered a case (under FIR number 30/2016 under Sections 279, 337 and 304A RPC). He said the bodies were handed over to the kin of deceased after completing legal formalities.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief over the death of five persons in the mishap.
In her condolence message, the Chief Minister conveyed her heart-felt sympathies to the bereaved family members in their hour of grief and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
