JAMMU, Dec 21: NSS unit of Sant Rocha Singh Degree College organised a cleanliness drive in the picturesque tourist spot of Bagh-e-Bahu today.
Around 50 volunteers of the college along with Randhir Singh, Program Officer of NSS unit participated in the drive. The volunteers besides cleaning the garden complex also educated the tourists present on the spot about ill effect of the polythene and plastic waste on the environment.
Earlier, Principal of the college Dr Nater Singh lauded the efforts of volunteers in generating the awareness among different sections of society.
Chairman Prof Ranbir Singh ex-DSW University of Jammu laid stress on adopting an austere lifestyle and sustainable living habits so that adequate resources could be spared for coming generations.
