JAMMU, Dec 21: Government is propagating against the poor nomads residing in Kad land despite taking steps against authorities for allotting Custodian and Aquaf land to the factory owners, criminals and land grabbers.
This was stated by Nazakat Khatana, State president, Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal Desh Youth Body (GBDYB) during a press conference here today.
“If Gujjar and Bakerwals are part of society, then why the Government is not taking any initiatives for their upliftment”, he asked.
The tribe community is facing many fold problems and the Government is not providing any kind of facilities to them and just claiming that nomads illegally occupied the State land, he added.
He urged the Government to regularize the land in the favour of Gujjar and Bakerwals, who are staying there for the past seven decades.
He warned to launch crusade if Government fails to initiate step regarding to the regularization of the State land in favour of Gujjars and Bakerwals.
Mohammad Yousaf and Nayeed Ali were also present during the conference.
