Sangarsh organizes seminar on cultural imperialism

RAJOURI, Feb 11:  In a bid to inculcate the values of Indian tradition among the young minds the Sangarsh- a civic movement for justice, equality, peace, prosperity and brotherhood organized one day seminar on ‘Cultural Imperialism’ at Govt PG College, Rajouri here today.
MLA Rajouri  Qamar Hussain Choudhary and Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board  Kuldeep Raj Gupta were the guests while it was presided over by Prof Shabir Hussain Shah,  Principal of the  PG College.
Speaking on the occasion MLA  said that the real strength of our nation lies in the diverse cultural unity. It is because of this our nation is known for religious solidarity across the globe.  He  called upon the youth to be united for building a strong and valuable society wherein every person feels free to practice his religious beliefs.
Kuldeep Raj Gupta emphasized on the traditional Indian civilization and the cultural values in it.  He said the youth is the real asset of our country and now it is the great responsibly on its shoulder to once again show the world the real cultural and religious strength and unity by standing against all kinds of social evils. He also appealed to the young community to celebrate own festivals and to speak and explore own language as it will help in uniting the nation at all fronts.
Prof  Shabir Shah said it is the deep planning of western world to project their model of civilization as the fittest model and are trying to erode the ethics, values and morality of the East. It is the high need of the society to feel the gravity of the issue as this sort of imperialism is deadly dangerous as it peculate in the deep roots of the society.
Earlier, presenting key note address  Vikrant Sharma, chief resource person of the progarmme  highlighted that cultural imperialism is the modern policy of the west to enslave the youth so that their products might be glamorized and they can get the market for their products. Categorically in the month of February  seven days (from 8-14 February) are observed as propose day, rose day, chocolate day, teddy day, kiss day, hug day and valentine day and this all is well projected by the national private media companies which get huge amount as a sponsorship, he said.
Prof Javed Mughal, Prof  Haqeekat Singh, Prof MK Waqar, Prof MB Magray and Shahbaz Khan also spoke on the occasion.
