SAMBA, May 27: Samba Police in a major crackdown on illegal mining has seized eight vehicles including seven dumpers in the jurisdiction of Police Stations (PS) Samba and Vijaypur which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material.
Police said its teams headed by SDPO Vijaypur, SHO PS Samba and in-charges of Police Posts (PP) Supwal and Goran of PS Samba while performing patrolling duty in their jurisdictional areas have seized seven dumpers bearing Registration Numbers JK21G-6331, JK02BP-8931, JK21G-6573, JK21G-0372, JK21G-5325, JK21J-8619, JK08K-8977and a tractor bearing Registration Number JK21J-9132 which were being used for illegal transportation/mining of the construction material in the area.
All the vehicles have been seized by Samba Police and handed over to the Geology & Mining Department Samba for further legal action.
