Samadhaan Foundation holds annual meeting, addresses key social issues

JAMMU, Mar 29: Samadhaan Foundation, a cultural, charitable, and educational organization dedicated to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, held its annual meeting at Kargil Sabhagar, Amphalla, Jammu. Delegates from various districts participated, reflecting on past achievements and strategizing future initiatives to uplift society.
During the meeting, key issues were discussed, including security and stability, drug abuse, employment, and social welfare. Delegates raised concerns over security in Jammu province, urging authorities to strengthen the security grid, reinstate security pickets in sensitive areas, and empower Village Defence Groups (VDGs) for enhanced community safety.
Recognizing the alarming rise in drug addiction, the Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to fighting the issue through awareness campaigns, rehabilitation programs and youth engagement initiatives. Stressing the need to channel youth energy positively, delegates called for improved sports infrastructure and skill training centers to nurture talent and provide employment opportunities.
The Foundation also urged strict regulatory measures against excessive fees imposed by private schools, ensuring compliance with Government guidelines prohibiting admission fees. Delegates from Kashmir highlighted the challenges faced by PM package employees.
Stressing the need to tackle unemployment, the Foundation advocated for sustainable job opportunities and the regularization of daily wage workers. The meeting further emphasized qualitative improvements in education and healthcare and the promotion of tourism to boost the region’s economy.
Concerns were raised over religious and social issues, with a call to curb bovine smuggling and communal disturbances while ensuring social harmony. A policy was proposed for the economic and social reintegration of families affected by terrorism, while initiatives for environmental protection, sustainability, and civic awareness were also discussed.
In his concluding address, patron-in-chief Pawan Sharma urged socio-political leaders, civil society members, and youth to unite against social challenges, particularly drug abuse.
Several prominent speakers, including Ajeet Singh, Milap Singh, Neeraj Kotwal, Akshay Bharti, Naresh Raina, Anukool Bhagat, Suresh Sharma, Vikas Sambyal, Aneeta Mohan Sharma, Usha Sharma, Sahil Bishnotra, Balbir Singh, Vicky Sharma and Rahul Singh, also addressed the gathering.
