Sagar distributes relief cheques

SRINAGAR, Dec 23: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar today distributed relief cheques of Rs. 16 lakh among 316 beneficiaries of Khanyar constituency whose houses were damaged in windstorm of March 2012.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sagar said that Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people, adding that the people who suffered during wind storm of March 2012 deserve Government support. He said Government had projected Rs. 3 crore relief package out of which Rs. 78 lakh have been released. He said Rs. 6300 will be paid to partially damaged house owners while Rs. 1900  to those who have received minimum damages during the windstorm of March 2012.
Mr. Sagar stressed the officers to ensure timely distribution of relief amount among the beneficiaries. He also exhorted upon the people to come forward and avail the benefits of newly introduced services like PSGA under which an officer, if found guilty, will have to pay fine of Rs. 5000 for not delivering the services within stipulated time.
He said people should register complaints without any hesitation against those officers who fail to implement PSGA properly.
