JAMMU, Aug 18: A ‘rusted’ hand grenade was today recovered from outside a Dhaba in Bari Brahmana area of Samba district today.
“A 1972 made hand grenade HE-36 (Indian Made) was found from outside a Dhaba in Brai Brahmana area,” a senior police official here said.
He said the matter is being investigated but according to the police official, the device must have come accidentally in a dump of mud carried in the trolley from the bordering belt, to make a traditional chullah (Tandoor) in the Dhaba.    “We are investigating the matter and trying to find out the exact reason of reaching the grenade there,” he added.
Later a police team led by SDPO Bari Brahmana Shehzad Salaria defused the grenade.
