Russia not to close borders to Europeans in response to Schengen rules tightening: Grushko

MOSCOW, April 18 : Russia does not plan to close its borders to Europeans in response to the tightening of Schengen visa rules for Russians, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told Sputnik.

“For our part, we do not plan to close our borders to European citizens or restrict their entry into Russia,” Grushko said.

He said human contacts, tourism, business and humanitarian ties must be maintained.

“Our country is interested in building bridges between people, despite all the European Union’s efforts to destroy these bridges,” Grushko said.
