NEW DELHI, Aug 23:
The Government has decided that the Reserve Bank of India will introduce plastic notes of Rs 10 on a field trial basis in five cities of the country, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
In a written reply, Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena said the RBI had informed that the field trial is to be conducted in Jaipur, Shimla, Bhubaneshwar, Mysore and Cochin keeping in view the varied geographical locations and climatic conditions. The expenditure proposed to be incurred on the field trial would be finalised with the guidelines, the minister said. (UNI)
