JAMMU, Aug 23: Police today arrested three gamblers and recovered Rs 17,200 from their possession at village Maan under the jurisdiction of Rhembal police station in Udhampur district.
Reports said a police party headed by SHO Rhembal Inspector Mohammad Sadiq alias Bhola and SI Ravi Kumar conducted a raid and arrested three gamblers.
The accused, who were gambling in the open, have been identified as Chuni Lal and Pradeep Kumar of Jib Thathri and Inder Singh of Chakki Morh.
At the time of arrest, police recovered Rs 17,200 from their possession. A case has been registered against the gamblers at Rhembal police station.
The drive against the gamblers has been launched on the directions of SSP Udhampur Ashkoor Wani and SDPO Sukhdev Bhasin.
