Srinagar, Feb 6: Dozens of roads in interiors of Rajpora, the Assembly segment that is being represented by former Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu, are in shambles but no attention is being paid by the concerned authorities to repair them.
The roads which are in dilapidated condition and are without black topping include Shadi-marg to Qasbay, Drabgam to Aglar to Kandi, Drabgam to CB Nath, Dalaw to Rohmoo and Pakharpora via Zaigam and Shadimarg to Tukoo Shopian via Qalampora.
All these roads which are spread over nearly 100 kilometers are in bad shape. The residents of several villages said that from past 5 to 6 years these roads have not been macada-mized or repaired and they continue to be in shambles.
“All these roads have developed potholes and as a result it is difficult to commute particularly during winters and rains. The mud makes difficult for vehicles to ply smoothly and pedestrians too face the similar situation,” said Ghulam Nabi, a local.
The locals have demanded immediate repair, macadamization and black topping of all damaged and dilapidated roads of the Rajpora constituency. Neither concerned lawmaker nor R&B officials could be reached for their comments over the story.
