Road Show at Surat projects J&K as mix of pilgrimage, leisure tourism

SURAT (GUJARAT), Mar 27: Jammu & Kashmir is a combination of pilgrimage, leisure and adventure Tourism and has got vast diversity and Tourists can spend days and days together to visit the beautiful locations of Jammu.
This was stated by Ashwani Gupta, Deputy General Manager, J&K Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC), while speaking in a Road Show, organised by Department of Tourism, Directorate of Jammu and Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra (HRAK) at Marriot Surat (Gujarat) as a part of multicity drive to give boost to the tourism in the Union Territory of J&K
“The diversity of Tourism of Jammu can be accessed from the fact that world renowned Mata Vaishnodevi shrine and Shiv Khori cave shrine attract 1.2 crore pilgrims every year which is even more than population of many countries and similarly Shahdhra Sharief in Jammu Region and Hazratbal Shrine , Charar-e- Sharief Shrine in Kashmir region attract pilgrims in lakhs and on the other side, Patnitop, Sanasar, Bhaderwah, Natha Top in Jammu and Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Achabal, Kokernag, Yusmarg etc in Kashmir are destinations which can compete any leisure destination of the world including European countries ,” he explained.
Ajay Kotwal, Vice President HRAK, while speaking on the occasion, said that Tourists can make Vaishnodevi ji as the center point and can move to Shiv Khori, Patnitop, Sanasar , Natha Top, Bhaderwah, Sudh Mahadev, Machail Mata , Bawe Wali Mata, Raghunath Temple, Mansar, Surinsar , World’s highest Railway Bridge Kouri, Chenab River Rafting point etc and can have the enjoyment of diversity of pilgrimage , leisure and adventure Tourism and similarly can move to Kashmir as well.
Kushal Magotra, Chairman Patnitop area FHRICJ , while inviting people to Patnitop, said that they are expecting a huge flow of Tourists this year to Patnitop, Vaishnodevi ji and other tourist areas of Jammu region.
Chander Mohan Singh, Secretary HRAK, elaborated in detail the pilgrimage and adventure Tourism destinations of Jammu.
President South Gujarat Association of Travel Agents Manish Nayak stressed the importance of Tourism for national integration.
B B Kotwal, President Bhadarwah Travel Trade Association, said that the main aim of the road show is to gear up for the peak season and apprise the stakeholders about the destinations and activities.
