JAMMU, June 18: Rich tributes were paid to veteran KP leader and former president ASKPC Hira Lal Chatta on his first death anniversary here today.
A programme was organized by ASKPC in which Swami Kumar Ji, Dr AN Sadhu, K K Khosa, president KP Sabha, Surinder Ambardar MLC, R K Raina president ASKPC , Shiban Khaibri, Prof T N Shalla, B L Handoo and A K Raina recalled the services of Mr Chatta to the community and nation.
The speakers while highlighting the role of veteran KP leader said that he led the community at the time of crisis and fought for its rights till his last breath. They said Chatta was a patriotic by core. They termed him a dedicated soldier and true Swayam Sevak.
They said he was at the beck and call of the community and served it like a soldier for his entire life. He was a bold leader who was a challenge and threat for the detractors of the nation always. The speakers resolved to work for accomplishing his goal. Subash Chatta and B B Gosani also spoke on the occasion and paid tributes to Mr Chatta. A two minutes silence was also observed in his memory.
