HIRANAGAR, Oct 7: Rich tributes were paid to martyr Surinder Kumar Sharma on his Shahidi Diwas at his village Upper Garnari, Panchayat Amla who attained martyrdom fighting with the terrorists.
The floral tributes were paid by Yogesh Sharma, Additional SP, district Kathua who was the chief guest in presence of Ashok Jasrotia, BJP leader, Sarpanch Jagdish Singh, Bhuai Lal Sharma, father of martyr, family members along  with large number of  villagers gathered from the adjoining areas in the function.
To mark the Shahidi Diwas, every year large number of people gather here to pay their tributes to this great soldier who scarified his life on October 7, 2000, fighting under operation Rakashik in Baramulla, village Sukura where Surinder killed two militants and attained martyrdom.
A langer was organized in respect of great soldier.
