NEW DELHI, Aug 24: Prices of rice basmati and bajra rose up to Rs 50 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on increased buying by stockists against restricted arrivals from producing regions.
Traders said increased buying by stockists against limited arrivals from producing regions mainly led to rise in rice basmati and bajra prices.
In the national capital, rice basmati Pusa-1121 variety rose further by Rs 50 to Rs 8,200-8,300 per quintal.
Bajra also moved up by Rs 40 to Rs 1,270-1,280 per quintal.
The following were today’s quotations per quintal:
Wheat MP (deshi) 2,070-2,270, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,580-1,585, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,585-1,590 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 850-890 (50 kg), Maida 930-950 (50 kg) and Sooji 1010-1,040 (50kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 8,200-8,300, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 8,200-8,300, Permal raw 2,225-2,275, Permal wand 2,300-2,400, Sela 3,300-3,350 and Rice IR-8- 1,900-1,925, Bajra 1,270-1,280, Jowar yellow 1,525-1,575, white 2,425-2,625, Maize 1,450-1,455, Barley 1,150-1,155, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
