Revoke lease order of Sindh Nallah blocks: NC

SRINAGAR, Dec 19: Senior National Conference leader and former MLA Kangan, Mian Altaf has urged upon the State Administration to revoke the orders about the leasing out the mineral blocks to contractors and barring local labourers from extraction of raw material from Nallah Sindh in Ganderbal district.
In a press statement issued here today, the NC leader said that hundreds of labourers from Arch, Nunner and Ganderbal area are earning livelihood by working as labourers for extraction of mineral (Sand/ Bazra) from Sindh Nallah in Ganderbal, however, in the recent past, the Government ordered about leasing out the mineral blocks to contractors which left over a thousand labourers jobless.
Altaf further said that in view of the unemployment, the labourers were earning their bread after working in the Nallah from many decades but the decision of leasing out Nallah blocks has created lot of resentment among the labour class as they have been left jobless. The NC leader urged upon the Governor to revoke this order.
