Poonch, July 23: A Temporary Settlement Assistant, presently working as Maharmal at Niabat Hari Maroht in Surankot, has been placed under suspension for demanding bribe.
The accused official, namely Mastoor Ahmad, shall remain attached to the office of SDM Surankot, till pending inquiry.
The suspension order was issued today by Deputy Commission Poonch, Rahul Yadav, who also directed SDM Surankot to submit the inquiry report within five days, for further action.
The action was taken after a video had gone viral, showing the accused official demanding and accepting bribe from the people for issuance of copies of revenue records and income certificate.
