Retired policemen discuss various pending demands

JAMMU, Nov 11:  All J&K Police (Non-Gazetted) and Pensioners’ Welfare Forum in a meeting resolved that Government Order No. 229-F of 2014 dated 17-10-2014 regarding pay anomalies was not acceptable since the effect is being given prospective, which means the effect will be given from the date of order.
The speakers in the meeting said with the implementation of this order, lot of injustice has been done with the retired persons who actually have been struggling since 1996 when 5th Pay Commission was implemented. They said that from 2017 onwards the case was filed in the court. Some of them have expired. The surviving strugglers have demanded that justice be given to them by giving the effect of the said order at least from 1996.
The other demands voiced in the meeting pertained to Enhancement in Medical Allowance to Rs 3000; Cashless health care policy to retired police personnel; Reserving 15% quota for police personnel in recruitments of police department; Sanction of Rs 50,000 at the time of death of retired police personnel; One Rank One Pension system in Police department etc.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Ajit Singh, district Kathua president of the Forum others in the meeting were  Sat Pal Sharma, Ramesh Singh, Harbans Lal, Sagra Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Raghubir Singh, Pt Triloki Nath Koul, Sukh Ram, Mohd Sharief, Bhushan Dutt, Naseeb Chand, Puran Chand, Kirshan Lal, Ram Dass and Sohan Lal.
