JAMMU, Nov 29: J&K Rehabar-e-Taleem (ReT) Teachers Forum has demanded release of pending wages of ReTs and orders of teacher grade-II and III in their favour.
In a handout Forum Chairman, Farooq Ahmed Tantray said, a decision by Governor’s administration in 2018 ordered conversion of 40,000 ReTs to Grade-II and III but many of these teachers are still waiting for the said orders.
He said that the undergraduate teachers who were converted into grade III were paid only one month salary from their pending salaries of nine months.
“Orders of teachers who acquired degrees from outside J&K recognized universities are also pending for months,” he said.
Tantray said that a teacher Grade-III, Fayaz Ahmed Sofi from zone Chadora, Budgam yesterday died during duty hours and he was without salary for the last nine months.
The Forum has appealed to the LG and Chief Secretary to intervene into the matter and release the pending dues and orders of the teachers who are waiting for the same for the last nine months.
