SRINAGAR, Sept 7:   A deputation of All J&K ReT Teachers Forum, led by the State president Vinod Sharma, called on Education Minister Altaf Bukhari and Secretary School Education Farooq Shah in their respective office chambers at Civil Secretariat Srinagar, regarding the burning issues of ReT cadre.
While interacting with Education Minister,   Vinod Sharma requested him to modify the order regarding training of in- service untrained teachers so that graduates and above teachers be deputed for B.Ed training and undergraduates for D.Ed by removing bar of 50 percent marks at 10+2 level. He said that Right to Education (RTE) was implemented in all the States except J&K in 2010 and in those States, teachers got 9 years to get themselves trained whereas in J&K, teachers were getting only 18 months for training. “So there is need to modify such order,” he added.
Vinod Sharma  also demanded framing of Transfer Policy for regularized ReT Teachers by considering them at par with general line teachers, regularization of ReT Teachers having qualifications from out of State UGC recognized Universities and those having less enrolment as their schools have not been merged with other schools due to geographic conditions,  streamlining of SSA salary and release of arrears of ReTs regularized since 2014 onwards, inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits, and Issuance of promotion list of teachers promoted as Masters in 2014.
The Education Minister listened to the deputation quite patiently and asked the Secretary School Education to issue clarifications regarding B Ed to Graduates and above.
The deputation also met Secretary School Education Farooq Shah and apprised him regarding the issue of D El Ed,  who on the spot issued telephonic instructions to both Directors of School Education and asked them to issue necessary directions to concerned CEÖs so that graduates and above be deputed for B Ed through IGNOU. He also announced that there is no bar of 50 percent marks for the teachers of J&K and now undergraduates can register themselves for D Ed, the Forum claimed.
The deputation comprised of Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Saleem Sagar, Shah Fayaz, Shabir Chowdhary, Vipin Sharma, Rajinder Singh and others.
