One more swine flu case in Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 7: One more swine flu case has been reported in Jammu, taking the total number of patients affected with the disease this year to 4.
“Anita Soodan (40) wife of Vikram Sharma, resident of  Roop Nagar, Jammu, was today found positive for H1N1 virus”, a spokesperson of Health Department said.
He said that the victim was admitted in Emergency Ward of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for last 3-4 days with complaint of fever and shortness of breath.
“Since there was no improvement in her health, doctors yesterday took her swab sample and sent for swine flu test”, he said, adding today when her report came she was found to be positive for H1N1 virus.
However, he said that the victim left the hospital last evening without informing the hospital authorities, who are trying to trace her so that she may be given proper treatment and further spread of deadly virus to others may be checked.
The spokesperson revealed that so far 42 suspected swine flu patients have been tested for H1N1 virus in Jammu region and out of them four have been found positive while 38 others were found negative. “Out of four H1N1 positive people, one has lost her life”, he added.
