JAMMU, Dec 8: Scheduled Caste community leader Vijay Anand has urged upon the State Government led by Mufti Mohd Sayeed to restore reservation to the reserved categories employees.
While talking to media persons here today, Mr Anand accompanied by Sachin Bhagat, Brij Mehra and Pawan Dogra alleged that with a recent High Court order the reservation in promotions to the SC/ST/OBC category employees has been stopped. There is strong resentment among the members of these communities and moreover, State Government has failed to protect the rights of reserved categories.
The SC leader also alleged that leaders from these communities have also turned silent and they should show strong resistance. He said that with the High Court orders, there is sense of insecurity being developed among the members of these communities. The Government is also maintaining silence for the last two months. He appealed all the community leaders to join hands for providing justice to the reserved category members. He termed it as conspiracy against the SC/ST communities and pleaded that Government should come forward with a solution.
Senior members, Sunil Pangotra, Pawan Dogra, Keemti Lal and Vinod Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
