Residents resent erratic power supply

JAMMU, Aug 7: The residents of Neelam Colony and Toph Sherkhania resented over the unscheduled power curtailments in their localities.
The locals alleged that a deputation of locals today tried to meet Managing Director, Jammu Power Development Corporation Limited (JPDCL), Yasha Mudgal regarding the erratic power cuts but surprisingly, she refused to meet them.
“Despite repeatedly reminders and countless visits to the JPDCL offices against the unscheduled power curtailments but the department concerned never paid any attention to their genuine demands,” they alleged.
They resented that an estimate to upgrade the capacity of the transformer prepared by the department concerned amounting 15.45 lakh and same submitted to the Chief Engineer by the Executive Engineer of Division-III on dated 04/06/2020 vide letter number: ED/III/JTS/634-36 but the higher rang officials of the JPDCL are delaying to install an upgraded transformer in their locality due to unknown reasons.
Prominent who were part of the deputation included Lalit Chauhan, Anuj Malhotra, Dixit Sharma, Ajat Shatru, Varun, Abhishek and Devinder Sharma.
